Der Ortsvorstand leitet die IG Metall Geschäftsstelle Duisburg-Dinslaken. Er ist ihr geschäftsführendes Organ und vertritt diese mit ihren rund 32.000 Mitgliedern in der Region nach Innen und Außen.

Der Ortsvorstand leitet die IG Metall Geschäftsstelle Duisburg-Dinslaken und vertritt diese mit ihren rund 32.000 Mitlgiedern in der Region nach Innen und Außen. Er wird für vier Jahre gewählt und besteht aus drei hauptamtlichen Geschäftsführer:innen und 19 ehrenamtlichen Beisitzer:innen.
Der Ortsvorstand führt die Beschlüsse der örtlichen IG Metall Delegiertenversammlung durch und leitet die Geschäfte. Deshalb nehmen die 168 Delegierten der IG Metall Duisburg-Dinslaken vierteljährlich den Geschäfts- und Kassenbericht des Ortsvorstands entgegen und entscheidet über deren Entlastung. So wird gewährleistet, dass der Wille der Basis der IG Metall vom einzelnen Mitglied bis hin in die höchsten Gremien weitergetragen und vertreten wird.
